Where’s your mama gone?

Exploring the legacy of loss and suffering of two children whose mother was killed by the Yorkshire Ripper

‘Where’s your mama gone?’ takes a powerfully effective look at the experiences of children in care by examining the legacy of loss and suffering endured by two children whose mother was killed by the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe. Placed in care, the twins must come to terms with the loss of love, stability and heritage; as adults they struggle to overcome the adversity of a lost childhood.

Inspired by the book, ‘Just a Boy’ by Richard McCann, the son of Sutcliffe’s first victim, this powerfully evocative play breathes life into the challenges faced by ‘looked after’ children.

A very worthy experience for those who know nothing of the care system and those who know it only too well
